Throughout this year, we have all been affected with COVID-19, whether it was mentally, or physically, and for the past two weeks, I have dealt with both. On a great Friday afternoon, I was informed that the disease had reached and infected two of my family members; my mother and father. My father has dealt with a lot of issues with the virus as he didn't know he had it, but had a minor heart attack at work which came out of nowhere. He then tested for the virus and tested positive. This led to my entire family being confined at home, far from each other. My mother also started to feel symptoms of the virus which led to me taking care of my family by bringing the necessary needs for the house as my immune system is strong and capable of handling it while being asymptomatic. Being back home and confined left me scared, and messed with me mentally. I knew that the correct and responsible thing to do was to stay home and try to fight through these two hellish weeks. I was very scared that something bad would happen to my dad throughout these two weeks especially because of what had happened the first day. It was hard to cooperate mentally in terms of work as I worried a lot and my work quality was poor. I'm extremely glad that the teachers were incredibly cooperative with me in terms of turning in assignments and supporting me mentally. I'm also very thankful for my friends who have helped me power through these two weeks and giving me motivation. After the two weeks have passed, my whole family tested negative and I figured that I never had it as the test also says if I had it in the past. As soon as I found out, I planned to go out the next day to sell in our store and it felt great being back to school and seeing the teachers who have missed me dearly. I want everyone to know that COVID-19 is real and it is going around. Make sure to wear your masks at all times, wash your hands, and socially distance in order for this experience to never happen to anyone else. I wish everyone great health, and I hope we can get through this together.
